Is Discord worth it?

I've been contemplating going into chat rooms before, but I have always been too shy and nervous to try it. I always fear both talking to people and being ignored by people. But some things I can't work out on my own and the people around me have no interest in my stories, no clue what I'm talking about, and are no help to me at all. I really just need a place with like minded people who could help me out and maybe I could do the same. I've heard good things about Discord and a lot of Youtubers I watch use it. So I'm asking that if anyone here uses Discord to tell me how they like it, pros and cons. It would help me as again I am a VERY nervous person about this sort of thing.

So hello Deviantart happy new year! I know its has been a long time since I've done literally anything on my account and my last submission in journals was less then pleasant. I'm not going to do a lot of complaining here I'm sure anyone actually reading is glad. Honestly I just wanted to let everyone know how I'm doing.
